I got the armrest from the factory. A few weeks ago I took it off to try the standard armrest. I didn't like it at all. I need something to rest my arm on in between shifts.

My friend have the extended armrest as an option straight out of the dealership. It looks cool and feels good, but he complains that it gets in the way of shifting from 3rd to 4th sometimes. Off course I would not know because I do not have the extended armrest, but just something you might want to know before getting it.

Part of liking or disliking it will depend on your height. I'm 6'2" and I like having it. I'm tall enough that it doesn't interfere with shifting, plus it gives me a place to put my arm between shifts. I like having the extra storage space, too.

I have one, and I love it. The car didnt originally come with one, but after I sat in my friends car I bought one off a member here. Im 6'2" as well and I have no difficulty with shifting at all.

I like mine, came from the factory with it, but the screws on the back (the one's that hold it to the console) have all but stripped out because of the extra weight it has in it when it's open.

1. Yes
2. Very much so.
3. Yes, a few months ago. I would only recommend the extended armrest for tall people with long arms. If you have short arms, there is a chance that your elbow will hit the armrest when shifting.

yeah it gets in my way too. when i chiling driving its nice to lean. and i keep stuff in each cubby, glasses and two way on the top, ipod and papers in the bottom. i noticed if im driving for fun i can lean it back and stays, its then a LOT easier to shift. if i had a SS on it, id have to drive like that the whole time. I think for track days ill unscrew it. so its nice at times, and sucks at time.

If you have a Kartboy SS, you will not be able to use the extended arm rest. Talk about a reach! The KB SS is really short. Its like you have to reach down into the boot recess to get to it. I have the factory SS, Prodrive shift knob, and extended armrest and it NEVER gets in the way. Screws are stripped and it needs some TLC, however-boo!

I had it.
It's nice to have for long drives, but that's it.
I'd only buy one if I had an auto.
