Didnt really like it. But after getting the extension for the shifter, it feels right in place.

It came stock in my 07. At first I thought it was ugly, but the extra storage comes in handy and it actually sits perfectly for shifting imo.

I'm with him. Well, that was when I had my Subaru. But anyway, I had a WRX before I bought my STi and in both cars, it's absolutely necessary for me. I have to rest my elbow on something while I'm driving

I ordered my '07 with the extended armrest. I'm glad I made that choice because after driving with it on I don't think i could go without it. I'm used to resting my arm inbetween shifts.

Yes.

I'm 6'2" also, and it's perfect with the stock shifter. I use it constantly now - I can't imagine it not being there Don't hit my elbow on shifts, which I hear is a problem if you're under 6' or have a short shifter.

Yeah i have it. Came stock on my 07. Love it for DD and long trips. Just when Auto-X it sucks makes it hard to shift. So i just unscrew the two screw.

Update to my first post in here, I had to get rid of mine after putting in my bride seat. The seat sits so low that it was litterally impossable to shift without lifting the extended part out of the way.

At 6'5" I don't know how I'd be comfortable in the car without it. Poses no problem during shifting unless you're a shrimp.

It all depends on how tall you are, long your arms are, how big your heart is. 6' 3" here, like it.

I have driven with one on the car and off the car. I have one on my sti and I would not go any other way. If feels so wierd without it and on longer drives would suck not to have something to rest your arm on. Plus, the extra storage.
