Talking HOW TO: Red Light Mod, OEM Gauge Package

Step 1: (make sure the car is off)The first thing you need to do is to remove the cover around the gauge package. This cover is held in with 2 clips on the front of the unit, one on the left side, one on the right. You have to slightly lift up the cover and pull towards you, you may have to exert some force to get it to move, it is only the clips so dont worry about anything else. The guages are screwed in so that wont come off.

Step 2: Once the cover is off, there are 4 screws holding the guages in. All Phillips head screws. Place a towel under the gauges once they are unscrewed so it wont scratch the dash.

Step 3: One gauge at a time, so wires don't get mixed up, pull the harness off so there is no residual power going to the unit, DO NOT PULL OFF VACUUM line for turbo gauge off. Locate the black colored light backing, and using a needle-nose plyers, rotate and pull the light out. You will then be able to remove the green condom cover and use a red sharpie to color the clear bulb to give it a more rd color and cover it with the red condom. Repeat with the other 2, but after each one, turn the key and light on to make sure the light goes on.

Step 4: Once all lights are back in, replace 4 screws and put the cover back on.

We did not take pics but we should be able to answer any questions you may have.

Any Questions PM myself or Chris05STI

This is similar to the OEM boost gauge (which I took pictures of). See here:

he meant u have to use a red bulb condom but color the bulb red with the sharpie first then apply the bulb condom over it .. if you just use to red bulb condom or the sharpie only it will be a pinkish color not red ... the best way to get a perfect red is to totally replace the stock bulb with a red bulb ... mac, sorry i forgot your name ... but i'm getting the wires on friday once i redo berto's, donnies, chris's and caesar's cars u r up next ... i will come down to your house and do it my fee to u because u and chris r cool is cost of materials .. i will keep u posted

Well i found something better then a sharpie, i still <3 the sharpie method. I was at a friend's house who had clear red paint used on model cars (for taillights) and it works wonders.
