| Junior STI Driver | I sold my 2005 armrest extension and ordered a reg armrest from Subaruparts.com. Subaru told me that I could reuse the hinge but the mounting holes are 3/8" off on the lid. The lid is 2" on center and the console is 2 3/8" on center. I was hoping someone has downgraded armrests on the 2005 and could verify parts for me. I don't believe you can reuse the hinge, only the screws. When I swapped mine out ("downgrade from extension to lid), the hinge appeared different on both. |

| You should get a new hinge when you get the new arm rest. The screw holes that mount to the actual console are the same but the ones that conect to the armrest itself are spaced a little differently. I just replaced my standard one with an extended one about two days ago. |

IWSTI Addict since: Oct 2004 Trader Rating: (0) | My car came with the extension but I needed a second regular one to mount an extinguisher to on track days. When I went to the parts dept at my local dealer they simply gave me a free one (Hinge attached) that they took off a new car they upgraded. You may find that your local dealer has little use for the original ones they take off and will do the same for you. BTW the part of the hinge that attaches to the armrest itself is different in the two designs. good luck, Tony |
