bluebaru02 perfect description, i used some red nail polish on the led, i put 3 coats on, after 2 it was still a little light colored, so i put a 3rd, in the day light of course you can't tell its red, but at night turn down the dash one notch and it matches the boost gauge perfectly now, it took me about 20 min. to get it out, about 5 min. to get it in, pretty easy to do. actually i think this was easier than the key ring mod, that was a pain.

i should have taken pics, but my camera is MIA, its faily easy, just take your time, pull it out, disconnect everything, then i used a screw driver and pryed on the edges of the black ring on it, get the ring off, then i will all come out, unscrew the two bolts on the back, then the board will come back, there is a white little square sponge looking thing in it, if you don't know where the light is, i plugged the board back into the power, then turned my lights on, it will light up. then you know what you have to paint, paint until you get the desired red color to light, by plugging it back in, and turing on the lights. then finally installation is reverse of removal.

edit: i see what your talking about now, turn your lights on, full bright (dash lights) then turn them down one click, and mine is a perfect match to that. i will see if i can find my camera tonight, unless someone esle gets them.

Does anyone know if this is the same procedure on the optional factory 3 gauges in the gauge pod?? Sounds like do the same process to all 3 gauges but just wondering if anyone has done it before? Great write up none the less..Thanks!

Which Omori Gauge?

I don't have Defis, so I have no idea, but I certainly wouldn't risk taking apart those expensive gauges...something tells me the Defis are illuminated by more than just one LED

Nice write up, i know im kinda late lol... but i have an 06 and i tried this and i think the boost gauges are different because i cant even get to the bulb... its weird... ive done interior bulbs on a few cars, and on my 06 theres harness thing for the bulb to turn left or right to get it out. Its just the power unit conects to the gauge and theres the line for the actual boost... thats all there is, i just remembered i shoulda taken a pic before i put it back in, oops...

the answer is there, you have to take the gauge out, pry on the black ring on the front of it to take the glass out, then unscrew the bolts on the back of the gauge. seperate the gauge back from the case, look at the little board inside of it, there is a little white sponge looking thing in it, paint that with nail polish.
