Default Help, Autopower Roll Bar Install

To those of you who have done this, how the heck did you get it in the car? I've taken the rear passenger door off, rear seats, as well as the center console. So f'n irritating.

I don't think you are supposed to take the door off. Just take the seats out and the center console out and you should be able to angle it in one side at a time.

I did all of that, but it just won't fit in. The hump in the middle of the car seems to be the biggest obstacle.

Try to make it more parallel to the ground until you get it past the hump, get it more in the car then lower the legs down. Do you have some one helping you?

Thanks for your response. Nah, I was attempting this by myself. By making it parallel to the ground, do you mean raise it up closer to the ceiling to bring it in? This thing is just a pita.

I could get the leg past the hump and onto the floor, but then the leg outside the car would be blocked by the Bpillar. Movement was also impeded by the cpillar and the roofline.

Definitely need someone to help you either to push it in or to hold the other side and swing it around until you can get that last leg in. I assume this is the race bar it does take some maneuvering to get it in. Having an extra person will help you keep the scratches down as well.

Have you try taking the front seats out? I installed the Autopower with almost all the interior out especially all the seats and go in from the front not the back doors. It makes life much easier.

BTW, the rear doors do not need to be remove to install the cage.

Try lifting the car up on stands for more room to manuver.

Ahh cool. Thanks for all the responses guys. I also PM'd Boostjunkie who helped as well. Thanks again. I'm going to have to wait a little anyway to install this item.

I got the answer for yah. Its tricky but just take your time. First thing, becareful to not scratch up any of your interior trim with the Autopower Roll Bar.

First things first, all you need to do is put your drivers seat reclined all the way down, aka FLAT.

Then, take your passenger seat out, if you really want, take both the driver and passenger seat out, but its not really needed. Rear seats must be out as well.

Do not have the entire Autopower roll bar put together. I found it easier to just get the main hoop in first, then attach the 2 supporting bars that go into your rear seats after you get the main hoop in FIRST!

HAVE SOMEONE ELSE HELP YOU, it will make things sooo much easier, and have less stress of holding the entire damn thing by yourself. Trust me on this! Just take your time with it.

You have to basically hook shot it in. Get the one leg of it in first, aka wrap around the B pillar, then creep it over the center console, and then get the rest of it in.

Also, for mounting it in, get the 2 supporting bars mounted to the main hoop after you get the main hoop in the car first. You should now have the entire thing fully built, just need to mount it to the car. With the rear seats out, move the entire unit to get it in the correct/even position. I use the spacing between the door sill and the roll bar to get the entire thing lined up. Have your friend help you. Also while doing the mounting, you have to get your car jacked up, and remove the 2 plastic "undertrays" that are on the mounted on the underside of your car on both sides. This will allow you to drill the holes and be able to mount the bolts and nuts much easier.

Alright, so you got your 2 undertrays off, car is jacked up, roll bar is in position with your friend hold it in place. Now grab your trusty drill with the correct drill bit for the provided bolts, and drill away. I believe, but can't fully remember, but I think you should first drill the rear supporting bars first, mount the bolts in, then drill the mounting holes for the bottom bolts. The holes for the rear supporting bars will be in your rear wheel well. So make sure your rear tires are off the car. I doubled up on the nuts for every bolt I mounted. I hope this helps, if you have any questions let me know, sorry I kinda rambled, I tried to get everything I remembered when I installed this with my friend. Good luck!

After your all done, it should look something like this! This is mine installed btw.
