Thumbs up A testimony on a free way to make your stock seats more comfortable

All I did was pulled (by hand) the necessary springs to the point at which they become nonfunctional. I pulled the 2 springs toward the rear on the seat bottom and all the springs on the part where your back rests (aka the seat back ).

This is so much more comfortable and it's free. My problem was that I sit ON TOP of the seat and not in it. I'm about 150lbs and 5'10'' so my lack of weight was obviously the issue and I, like others, can't justify gaining 50+lbs so I fit in the seats. It may not completely alleviate the problem, but it definitely will keep me satisfied for a while. I just wish I did it before I drove 1,100 from CT to FL.

EDIT: I forgot to mention removing the seat was not necessary.

Being 6'4" 265lbs doesn't help with the stock seats. It still feels like I'm sitting ON them rather than IN them. Now the stock seats in my '03 WRX, those are pretty good.

Yeah, I've read those seats are better. I don't know why Subaru drifted from what worked. If it's not broke, don't fix it. They fail.

I drove a 2004 RX-8 (My mother's car. She's nearly 60 but loves her sports cars.) yesterday and even those seats are worlds better. I might have to steal them from her. Hehe.

(4) 175lbs zip ties help too.. Just lace them under the seat where you sit. Makes the seat not rebound as much. I Love it! All throw some pics up tomorow..
