Default Is this a real RECARO? - JDM ITR Black Recaro SR2/SRD

Hey guys - all this talk of seats has me looking at replacing the stockies, especially since I'm commuting almost 100 miles a day. I ran across these and was wondering if you guys can tell me if these are worth $800 for the pair and if they're the real deal.

I confess I don't know much about the specifics of aftermarket seats.

TIA!

Karl,
What will really give it away is if the back adjuster knob doesn't say Recaro. I couldn't see very well with the pics but deffinitly check that out. I've been running into a lot of copies in Recaro and Bride. Bride being the worst. Also, I can't remember if the SRD have a soft back or a hard back, but research that too.

Ok so apparently these are supposed to be JDM Integra Type R seats. Need to find more pics to see if these are any good.

I don't have experience with the SRD model, but I have experience with the Evo seats and the sportlines.

We had a thread about a pair of sportlines and myself and a few others flagged it down for the seats being a fake.

I have seen the SRD's in black with red letters before and these seem very genuine to me, if these are a fake, they are a work of a master.

I would ask the seller for the bill of sale and/or who/where he bought them from and also what car they came from.

If the bill of sale has some sort of a tracking # you can always call RECARO and have them run it to see if it comes back legit.

As far as the price, that's a good deal. I think they go for $1300 new or there abouts.

They "look" authentic to me. BTW - The quality of Recaro's SRD and Speed seats (almost same thing, but the SRD's are wider) is not worth the price tag. At all.

Nigel - so regular SRD sliders and rails, from say, Wedge Engineering should work? Where did you get your rails and sliders from?

TIA!

I never said there was anything wrong with RECARO, as you put it. I have first hand experience with the SRD and Speed seats. The cloth starts coming out from around the seat belt harness hole. Absolutely unacceptable for the amount of money they cost.

I used to have Sparco Milano 2s, and they were junk.

The Recaro Speeds I have now are clearly superior, and the craftsmanship is evident.
