your radio and gauges are connected to a switched power supply. this is normal. you do not want the radio or other aux equipment on while the engine is cranking/starting.

cheers

The gauge and radio are not on a switched circuit. Your battery isn't supplying enough amps sometimes to power them during the crank. You can try a voltage regulator, or a nice big capacitor, or a tank circuit. Or just buy a new battery.

Normal for the radio, but for the gauges it means you're tapped into the wrong power source. Try tapping into the power for the hazard button. Search on here for details, it's a regularly occurring installation mistake.

it seems like when you start the engine all(?) accessories go power off instantly to give enuf current for starter...so my alpine restarts and defi does sweep again....
i am still wondering if there is a way to have defi stayed on even if start the engine..

I did read it and didn't like it since i checked the schematic and it seems like that black/green wire on the hazard goes to the ignition relay instead of being fed directly from the power supply(i am using ign on the a/c harness). and it doesnt look like the wire is active when the harzard is on...did u try?

after researching, my conclusion is that I dont think there is a way to make my defi's stayed on when i crank engine since i can't find solid 12v line that always hot. like i said eariler, all 12v lines drops when engine starts. this is not the issue w/ ign wire, but 12v line.

This is how I set up my Defis. And they turned on with the ignition, and did not turn off and back on again with the key turned to start. It's a really common issue, with a really easy solution. My favorite kind of problem .

so let' say your key is on 2nd position, your defi sweeps...and you start your engine..it doesnt sweep again?
