You can try this cradle Audiomotive Gruppe, LLC. And use either a Profit or a Panavise Indash mount like this Audiomotive Gruppe, LLC. I use that same setup with my iPhone works well and looks very clean.

Probably no more than that big, dangling, girlie keychain.

Which crack? I'm trying to find a good place to run the wire. I am also going to strap the OBD-II port up somewhere under the dash as well.

For now I am just running the USB cable down beside the steering colum. I bought one of those Type S cell phone holders.

Its funny for about 3 months my AP had been sitting in its box since the day I flashed the car. Now that I bought that holder I am using the live data every day.

Do you guys leave the ap plugged in all the time when its mounted on the dash like that when you are not using the car. Because mine stays on when i take the keys out.

I actually pulled my USB cable apart and wired it to a relay so it turns off and on with the car. Was very easy to do. Just run a switched 12VDC to a Bosch style automotive relay to switch the relay on and off. Then run the red wire (5VDC) from the USB cable through the relay, and back to the AP. Then ground the relay and your done. I put in a hidden switch that bypasses the relay just in case I need the AP on while the car is off. I can do some simple schematics when I get home tonight if needed, but it's pretty simple. I can do a write up with install pics/part #'s and what not if enough people request it. I personally use a mount from best buy that has a strong flexible arm attached to a suction cup and it works great, but did cost $30.

Pin Signal Color Description
1 VCC Red +5V

2 D- White Data -

3 D+ Green Data +

4 GND Black Ground

I could easily enough, if there is enough interest though. I'll make up a couple prototypes tonight. I know wiring is easy enough, although most prefer a plug and play solution. Even me, and I've done wiring for the Air Force for 12 years.......well, until they medically retired me.

Here ya go for all the DIY'rs. I made this up quickly, so don't mind the crudeness. You can just cut a section of the insulation from the USB to splice the red wire and leave the rest intact, I just wanted to better illustrate, so I showed all of the wires. I decided to go the picture route so that it's easier to understand than a full schematic

If there are enough people that would rather this done for them, I'll make a few up, and post pics. I think I could do these for around an estimated $25 a piece shipped.

Thanks for the drawing, looks easy wiring wise. I'm gonna get creative on the mounting as far as where the switch goes and hiding the wiring.

I went so far as to unclip the OBD port from the lower dash, and relocate it under the steering panel area. That way the wire wasn't coming straight down near my leg. I then routed the USB wire so that only about 4 inches of it shows as it comes out of the dash. I am also using a Type S cell phone holder I got from Pep Boys for $7.99.

A friend of mine put a resistor inline on his USB cable so his accessport comes on with the ignition but he's having other problems as a result.

Type S cell phone holder FTW. I got mine at Target. I like how it has adjustable arms; you can adjust the cradle so the USB cable doesn't get in the way. I suggest applying Dr. Scholl's mole skin to the back of it though or it will scratch the silver paint on the dash.
