theres two things you have to push in on the side. get a flathead screw driver and push it in. you will see it.

Small flathead screwdriver and some patience. There's a clip holding it in.

It's worth the effort so you don't have the cable and connecter hanging down by your leg. Looks MUCH better.

Have you looked into any of the original Atari video game mounts? They might work. In all seriousness I haven't heard of anyone discovering a winning mount for it. That big stiff cord coming out of the bottom makes mounting it really difficult; not to mention the afore-hinted (new word!) large size of the thing! You pretty much have to unplug it and hide the whole thing (cord and unit) since the cord doesn't detach very easily. Since the cord is so bulky you can't really hide it and leave it there.

Don't get me wrong; this isn't a hate-post of the V.1. I think the reasons stated above are why no good mounts have been found and why the desire to mount them is low. Such a process! If you find a mount that works you should definitely post it. You can title the post "Cure found for disease that killed the dinosaurs!!" I'm done now.

HAHA yea i know the thing isnt to pretty thats for sure, I guess this should give me ample reason to upgrade to the V2, maybe.

Just curious being I live in the Desert and well it gets really hot here has anyone who has mounted in their cars left it in all summer and how did it fend. Any problems with the screen from the heat or anything? I know out here we have problems where when you leave your cell phone in your car it can bake them. So I am just curious?

This is what I used. $30 from Best Buy. I've used it for over a year without any troubles at all. It flexes any way that you like, and the suction cup when properly mounted is rock solid! I love it, and my AP is always in view for live data!
Bracketron - Mobile Grip-It Windshield Mount for Mobile Devices - Black - PHW-203

I have some pics, but I'm at work and they are storred on my phone. I e-mailed them to myself from my Blackberry Anyways here they are. Hope this helps!! I love this mount!!

Oh, and while I'm postin up pics, I might as well throw this one on here. I've been dieing to post it up because I'm so proud of it. Unfortunately it needs to be painted. I had some exhaust parts in the trunk at one point and it scratched the crap out of it. I think when I repaint I'll go with a gray to match the trunk a little better. For some reason I thought black with flecks of blue and green in it would be cool. It looks nice, just doesn't really match

That looks like a nice mount but the OP is searching for a mount for the V.1 Accessport which is totally different than the V.2.

I took those pics about a year ago on the older firmware. The gauges kinda looked kewl, but the plain digital readouts are much easier to read while driving. I like the bigger numbers, but that was one of the first firmwares that COBB had. They no longer look like that.
