Sure, be glad to. As soon as I know *How To* install them. There's just one wire that I'm trying to figure out where to hook up. Someone's looking into it for me, and hopefully I'll have an answer soon. Soon as I know what to connect that wire to, I'll be all set.

So far I'm impressed with these gauges. They feel solid and come will a good amount of hardware. They even come with a visor that mimics the visor over the stock cluster. The instructions are clear. The only hangup I'm having is that one of the 5 wires for the power connector has to be connected to a specific type of wire in the car; a power wire that doesn't shut off when the car is started. Because these gauges are meant for more than just subarus, the instructions understandably don't point to specific wires to tap into.

Doesn't look like it. How are those SRTI gauges?

Very cool fellas, keep us posted! I have been waiting to buy gauges because I didn't want to spend 1k on gauges alone.

OK, I figured it out with a hint from wakeboarder81.

The clock wiring has 4 wires that you will be interested in:

Batt
Ground
ACC
Illum

The MadDad Ultra gauges have 5 wires you need to hook up:

Batt
Ground
ACC
Dim
ON

The last one, "ON", has to be connected to a power source that doesn't get disconnected when you engage the starter. EDIT: Connect the MadDad Batt+ wire to the clock Batt wire, the orange wire to a lead from the ignition fuse. Ground to ground, ACC to ACC, Illum to Dim.

Now, I just wanted to connect my boost gauge, but I will be hooking up three more in a clock pod in the future. One issue I was concerned about is that the MadDad wires are VERY small; likely a 28 gauge wire so something similarly tiny. That makes them nigh impossible to tap in with a regular wire tap. So with that in mind, and the knowledge that I'll be doing more gauges in the future, I figured I'd use a 6 circut terminal strip from Home Depot.

[NOTE: only one red wire is hooked up, the other is leftover from my past wiring attempt]

The white wire leads to the IGN fuse:

Not the most elegant or OEM solution, but it works.

Now I can hook up more gauges in the future with no hassle. I ran short lengths of wire from the splices in the clock harness. I *highly* reccomend using different colors of wire when doing a project like this. It makes this a LOT easier to keep straight.

I also velcroed the block down under the clock, ready for my future install. You can see the taps into the clock harness and the MadDad cable going down towards the steeringwheel.

NOTE: The 07s (and I think 06s) have a passenger airbag status display in the clock. It seems that if you start the car without the clock plugged in, the Air Bag light will come on. In the future, when I put in the clockpod and gauges, I'll probably leave the clock stuffed underneath.

Snaking that wire a bit of a pain. The trick was to take a length of the primary wire I was using and feed it up through the dashboard while reaching for it with my other hand. Once I pulled it through, I taped the end of the MadDad cable to it and pulled it back through.

I mounted my boost gauge on the steering column. It's not the best place for it, but I'm used to looking there. YMMV. If you want to go with an A-Pillar pod, you'll need to either look for a place to tap into closer, or run some wires from the block at the clock pod to another block by the A-pillar.

Here's a shot of the gauge lit up:

And here's a video of the Startup and Shutdown.

Let me know if there are any questions.

I'm having some issues with the gauge. I've talked with Rich from Dadd's SCP and I'm going to try and get a separate lead for the orange wire.

UPDATE: fixed the wiring in my above post. But it didn't solve my issue. Rich is going to send me a new boost gauge to see if that corrects the issue. I'm thinking it's the sending unit; we'll find out when the new one arrives.

Anyone have the oil pressure gauge? What is the range? Is it available to read up to 125-150 psi? TIA

The Oil pressure gauge goes up to 140psi.

Excellent! Thanks! If the installs go well and opinions are favorable, I might just give myself an early Christmas present

The gauges are great. I can't wait to get the pod installed when I go Stage 2+ in the spring. My issue might stem from a bad part. But Rich is over-nighting me a replacement along with a return shipping label. THAT'S good service! I don't think there's any reason not to get these gauges.

only reason i got some defi's over these is because of my jdm whoreness. plus i think the defi face looks a little better IMO. not major different, just my preference. these are leaps and bounds a better "deal" on price though.

I personally thought these looked better than the Defis. The color match is *exact*.

I am really contemplating doing these...

1. I thought about doing the boost around the steering column, but I do not like the A-pillar gauges I have now. Is there a single pod available for these?

2. It comes with everything needed to do the install, correct?

3. Does the AF gauge tap into an existing sensor or would another need to be added? What about oil temp/pressure? Water temp?

Guys,

Just some general info that might help answer some post install questions and other questions you have.

- As mentioned the oil pressure reads to 140 psi. It will actually go beyond that because the sending unit supports 200 psi but we've designed the face to show upto 140.

- You must have sending units plugged into the back of your gauge if your going to power them up otherwise your gauge might seem like it's haunted with sporatic needle movement(not all the time but it would not be out of the ordinary). If your not going to install the oil pressure sending unit don't bother plugging in that gauge because without the sending unit reading pressure the oil pressure gauge will always be "warning" you that you have low pressure.

- The oil pressure sending unit is very small and fits the galley plug location easily...remember you need to use a 1/8" NPT threaded galley plug. We supplies those in the box at no charge when we have them in stock. We just ran out so if anyone gets an oil pressure gauge without one, we will send one as soon as we get them back in. If you've already scored one let us know.

- Sending units should be plugged in before plugging power into the gauge. This is mainly for Boost and Oil Pressure. The first time you power on these gauges the calibration routine needs to be run and its important to have the sending units plugged in before the power in order for the procedure to work correctly.

- When you power off your gauges they are designed to briefly show the current peak value each has recorded, which I think is a cool feature. After that they perform the power off sweep. It is normall for the power off sweep not to be synchronized like the power on sweep because each gauges starting point for the sweep will be different.

- When wiring the gauges, its important for the Orange wire to be connected to a switched 12v source that has power when the car is in Accessory BUT DOES NOT LOOSE POWER WHEN starting the car. It SHOULD loose power when the car is off though so don't put it to a fuse that always has 12v or direct to the battery.

We've got a complete install guide coming but it won't be done till next weekend.

1) Universal base 60mm mounts are included wiht each gauge.
2) Yes - although you'll have to slice into existing wires for power, ect.
3) The AF gauge isn't done yet, but it will come with an 02 sensor so you can install in an aux 02 bung you might already have in your DP. The AF gauge is still in development. We've looked at doing the AF as a wideband based on the popular Bosch Probe but we're also looking at ways of getting better resolution out of the factory probe. I'm not the electronics guru so I can't elaborate on that. I'll have more info on the AF gauge in a week or so. It will be an analog guage though. It will not be the typical colored lights type of gauge. It will be an analog sweep gauge that has the same appearance as the others. You'll be able to set two user adjustable warnings for what you feel is rich or lean for your car.

Rich
