Default I can save you lots of money.

Hey whats up everyone. My name is Pat and I am not an insurance agent. However I do know quite a bit about how to get the lowest rates on your insurance by varying deductibles and coverages. Did you know sometimes having higher coverages can lower your premiums? Yeah its true because it puts you in a different category. There are many different things I can do to save you money on your insurance. I do it for my friends and family quite a bit and I figured I would try to pass the savings on to you guys as well. If your interested in seeing what I can save you, PM me. Like I said I am not a salesman, I do not get paid commission on getting you the insurance, I merely find the best rate for you. I typically charge about 25% of what I save you per year but I have decided to drop it down to 15% just to spread the word.

This really does work, I saved myself around 1000 a year, my dad has two Porsches and I saved him roughly 2000 a year. Let me see what I can do for you.

Hi Pat. Welcome to the Insurance Talk section. It's great that you have some "tricks" that can lower rates. However, insurance is usually something that should be handled by a professional.

Bumping up deductibles and playing with coverages are very common things to do. what is more important is looking at the risks or exposure that one faces and finding adequate insurance based on their risks. Saving someone money and not giving that person the best possible coverage - to risks - it not a good way to go.

the standard thing people try and do, is bump up a deductible to lower premiums. then you can bump up coverages and still be paying less than you did prior and have higher coverages. But, if that is the case, wouldn't it make sense to bump up the deducts and keep the coverages the same (if you've done enough research to justify the ratio of risks to coverages)- this way the client saves much more money. It’s impossible to know the best decisions for your “client” unless you’re a Professional Insurance Agent. When I work with my clients I sit down and find out EVERYTHING about them. Coverages are determined by looking at what assets someone has to protect. Simply bumping deductibles and playing with coverages to ONLY save money – is not the best thing for everyone.

Don’t take my post the wrong way. the help you're offering is very cool. but if i need dental work, i'd rather go to a dentist - instead of someone who just knows about teeth. you know?

Just MHO.

I do not just play with deductibles RAS. I also check with many different companies because tickets and accidents are rated differently with different places. Some accidents will increase the rate 30%, some will only raise it 20. It is things like this that I check to make sure people get the benefit of my service. So its not just bumping up deductibles, that would be stupid and irresponsible. BTW what companies do you work with?

I'm a broker, so I'm not tied to any one company. this way i can shop the open market and see who wants to play ball. Same driver - 3 different companies - 3 different rates.

I have appointments with several different companies. The 3 that I typically start with are Fidelity, CSE and Progressive.

Fidelity is a preferred company - great rates - great customer service.
CSE, also a preferred company, is another solid option. CSE works best for anyone who has a civil service background (MILITARY/COP/FIREFIGHTER/TEACHER etc). Also great Customer Service.
Progressive - solid company. Typically a good place to start with anyone who has a less than perfect driving record.

If I don't like the rates that I get from these three, I keep shopping. My main focus is P&C. So I do Autos/Homes/Businesses/Health blah blah blah.

PTIZ - With what you know so far about INS, you should consider getting a license. It's great fun. You can work in any area you like, and help lots of people.

I have considered it. I have had offers from a couple places for employment, but I like doing my own thing.

But Ive got a crazy idea. I think it would be pretty interesting to pick one of these lucky iwsti ers and do their insurance for them and see who can get them the better rate. WHat do you think? Just for fun

Ryan

p.s. I have a hard time believing you get me much lower than what i pay now for the crappy state of south carolina. We have one of the highest insurance rates in the US. I had rates from 414 a month to 390 a month 333 a month. After talking with upwards of 6-7 insurance companies, i've setteled with Allstate. $240 a month. I've never checked with USAA since im airforce, but i dont see my insurance getting much cheaper then this.

p.s.s. What credentials do you have, and who do you work for?

Hi Crew. not sure if you're asking me for my credentials or the other dude. I'm a licensed P&C Broker. I work for an Agency in Los Angeles. I'll shoot you a PM with my broker ID # and my contact info - plus what i would need to run a quote. don't worry, no CC/SS or Bank info needed. .

check your PM.

cheers!

nice! I would think that it would suck to be limited to working for just one company. you can only sell their products. And if they company that you're working for doesn't offer other lines of insurance - you're limited. That's why if one is considering a career in Insurance (not that you are) they should think of becoming an Independent Agent rather than a Captive. As an independent they can get appointed with many different Companies. Thats the route I went. Best decision for me.

personally Peleg, i think you should consider a career in WRC. a bit more $$ there.
