eh in 2 years it should go down a bit, my record will be clean and i'll be 25. Anyone know any insurance companies that give emergency vehicle operators a discount? I still need to ask state farm, they don't give any discount for lojak or anything along those lines so i'm betting they won't budge.

Got my actual (not "promised") update from selling the 96 GMC truck and adding the 08 STi.

They were right. No change in rates.

$405 every 6 months from State Farm! After seeing the kind of quotes everybody was getting on here I was nervous because I bought the car before I actually checked what the insurance was going to be.

My policy is set to renew next month and they pulled a nasty trick on me.

They told me my '07 STi "Rating" went from 17 to 26! This has nothing to do with accidents or tickets (I have neither). This is a rating system used to determine a cars "Insurability". That was Travelers Ins. Co.

I now pay an additional $50/ month. I'm currently shopping around, but everone is telling me the same old thing. 26 rating. They even said they have never seen a car jump so high so fast. When I asked them why, they said they didn't know. I need to do some more research into this.

it's the affect that racer boiz have on any given model of vehicle. lots of tickets, wrecks, vandelization, or thefts will cause the rating number to spike.

that's why many owners roll their eyes and sigh heavily when they read about the public road escepades of some owers.

I don't know how to get around the problem. It seems I'm stuck with high premiums due to a total lack of common sense from others. Typical!

The simple reason: the 2007 stats were released, and I'd hazard a guess that a sheetload of 04-07 STIs ate it this year. From dented to totalled makes NO difference,it's how much paying out they do,and the sheer incidence numbers. When I said I could insure a Ferrari for less,I was serious. Oh,don't forget how many of these are stripped. You can NOT leave an STi in Boston and have a f'ing prayer that it won't get hit. Plus, kids with STIs are generally a menace,I've never met a post-teen with the common sense you need to safely operate these cars-even stock.

y'all posting "I pay $x", "I pay $y", and it's meaningless w/o posting what level of coverage you are paying for so anyone can actually compare..

Used to pay (progressive auto ins) 500 a month for 50/100 insure and uninsured at 500 dollars deducts. Now paying 280 with same coverage under Statefarm. Statefarm FTW.
