My insurance policy starts a new 6 month premium so I thought I would call on the subaru insurance and they quoted me $2,917 for a year and I laughed in their face because my policy is through allstate and I pay $1,400 a year clean record same policy. HA Just my 2cents

Is this the one through Liberty Mutual? I used to have them till I bought the STi. They wanted 3200 a year (with a multi-car + home owner discount) and I was a bit pissed. So I called Progressive and with a single car my yearly premium is 1400.

So when that paper came in the mail, I was really surprised. Looks like they're still a rip.

Geico: 1250 for me. Single accident where I was parked and a delivery truck backed into me. Two speeding tickets on the record, but neither 15 mph over the speed limit.

I switched to Libetry Mutual through the subaru deal and it cut my premiums in half. My STi and TT Supra cost me a tad over $1k a year for full coverage with a home owner's policy. I also carry $1k deds.

A cheap rate from one particular insurance company might not be cheap for the next person. I have no idea how they come up with the premiums, but it seems there is no protocol for any of them. There are so many variables, no two people can have the same rate. Depends on your age, vehicle, driving record, state/location, if they like you, if they are feeling greedy/generous, gender?, other current insurance, etc...

Yeah, that was kind of my point by posting what I pay. I never understood why people try to compare or ask what others are paying for their insurance other than, maybe, just to get an idea.
