wish i was 21 again..>sigh< yeh guess its lower since i am 32 with no points..when i first got the 91 awd talon tsi in 95 they wanted 6gs full cov under my name but my liscense had 2 speeders on it..best thing to do when your under 25 is stay under parents or families coverage..and if they list you as a driver and ur clean for a few years this will help alot in price for when you get your own..

I already looked around. Progressive wanted ~$1700/6 months and GEICO wanted ~$1300/6 months. I guess I will try State Farm and Nationwide. I think the majority of the problem is that I live in Baltimore City, much higher rates. We bought another house in the suburbs(Bel Air), but we don't move in til July. My overall insurance will go down $500/6 months when we move.

These do seem expensive. $490/6 months with State Farm. 250/500 liability, $100 deductible comprehensive, $500 deductible collision, 250/500 uninsured, 250/500 underinsured. We pay $250/6 months for our 92 Integra with the same coverage, and paid $250/6 for the 96 Miata. Maybe it is Idaho. Oh yeah, no accidents in 15+ years, one speeding ticket in last 15 years, 35 and married.

Who knows -- maybe it will go up, and asking them about their policies for dealing with high performance driving schools won't help (to the underwriters, it seems any speed over 55 must be irresponsible racing).

No probs at all. Just the standard questions. The rep did mention that the "high" premium was due to the "large engine"
Good luck.

I pay about $800 a year for my STi with the highest coverages I could get. I am through Liberty Mutual which I found from a mailing I got from Subaru. They had some deal since I contacted them through Subaru. I also insure my Supra ($500/yr) and my apt, so I get a discount for them.
