In Maryland, SUVs are alot more than other cars. Through Esurance, my wife's 99 Grand Cherokee with $1000 deductable costs more than my STI with $500 deductable. (Note: the large deductable on hers is her incentive to drive safely, because she knows if she dings it up, its not getting fixed right away).

It pays to have a clean record, own a home, and be married.

I pay approximately $95-$97/mo on the STi. I'm 31 with 2 tickets. I probably have 3-4 points.

I, on the other hand, have had more tickets that I can count (read +20).

It sounds like you need to shop around. I called Geico and they wanted some insane amount of money. So I went online and found one of those comparison sites (esurance.com I think?) and put my info in. I got back 4-5 quotes with AIG being the least. They wanted $123/mo.

I also raised the deductibles to $1,000 for comp/coll which made a huge difference.

I'm 24, live in Burlington, MA step 13 and mine is $1800 a year, I don't think it's that bad, considering STi is rated the same as 7 seris BMW or Benz, that's what iI hear.
