you can try to get a quote from AIS, they'll try to get you the best deal.

we were already going through AIS, and were insured with bristol west. adding the sti to that policy was quite expensive. but after two months that contract ended, and AIS found us a better deal with mercury. i think it was well over $1000 less per year.

i don't recall the exact amount per year. but i'm very sure it's quite a bit less than your quote (and that's for two cars). butthen again, we're not 18 anymore
allthough i still feel like i am

oh, just in case, i am not affiliated with any of the companies i just mentioned.

Jurgen.

if hes payin 700 for 6 months, i would bet that its on his parents insurance policy, with him listed as a driver...

look on the bright side, it is probably cheaper than if you lived in New Jersey.
Try AmEx, it seems not too many people know about their auto insurance. They are really cheap for me, though my situation is quite different from yours. https://www64.americanexpress.com/au...t/QuoteServlet

Down in Florida insurance rates are going up almost daily for numerous reasons. I'm 21, the STi is paid off but I still have full coverage through Progressive and it's about $165 per month for me.

Okay so if i list myself on my parents insurance policy would that lower the insurance cost for me to what my friend is paying??? And would this policy cover the car fully while im driving it ?? sorry guys i just dont know what to do......seems like sports cars here in chicago are expensive to own, which is why i wanna move to a farm area in ohio . But any way If i cant afford the insurance for the STI ill just get the BMW 330 xi that should help the insruance payment go down. = )

If you have the car listed under your parent's policy, it should lower your payment. I'd have your parents check with their carrier and see what the difference in price would be. Your friend may not be listed as the primary driver and that may be one reason why his is so low. Having one of your parents listed as a primary and you as a secondary driver will save you money, but it could bite you if you get in an accident and the insurance can prove that you drive the car the majority of the time. Likely? No, but something to think about.

Sounds like you should talk to your friend. Get the specifics of his policy. Then duplicate them.
Drivers ed?
Good student?
Occasional use/not to school?
Curfiew agreement?
On parents policy?
Liability limits?

Don
p.s. Are your parents on Crack? I know how I drove when I was 18. I managed to get an 80 hp diesel mercedes sideways and off the ground on a daily basis. I'd be dead if I had a fast car.

No my parents are not on crack.....my parents know im responsible which is why they even took into buying me a sports car like the STI....But ill tell you one thing the insurance companies down here in chicago are Really on crack, I mean seriously $4100 for only 6 months.....thats close to ten thousand for just one year. My Hopes of owning a STI has been broken but i guess ill have to settle for a BMW 330xi for now....and buy a sports car when im older. Im still gonna try to find a way to get a decent price for the insurance on the STI but if not then screw it, i will never pay a amount like that for a car.

If you put the STi on your parents policy it will be a lot cheaper.

that sucks,, you should probably get a Honda if you are going to pay 8K a year for insurance, you could buy a new one every other year, 75 bucks a month, full coverage, USAA, it is good to be a Veteran.

actually come to think of it, you should probably get a suitable car for an 18 year old, like the one I had, 85 Ford Tbird, 3.8L v-6 150 hp.
