Everyone's quoting insurance prices, but I don't think I've read anyone say whether their full coverage, damage, liability, etc. Different coverages have different prices, not to mention your age, income, status, marriage, and other factors. I'm not sure if this topic is really going to solve/answer anything. It seems that this one is just going to continuously run around in circles.

I have full coverage with a $500 deductible. 100/300/100 for liability. I also have towing and rental car.

Once you give the insurance company that VIN #, watch your insurance skyrocket.

Im 20 and called USAA up to see how much it would be. With $500 deductibles across the board its still going to be 540 a month. I have a perfectly clean record and 3.0 avg yet they still rape me. Of course im going to shop around hopeing that i can get something better. If not every time I mail my check they are going to get a obcene letter. Its amazing how much insurance companies charge i dont know how the @**holes sleep at night.

I went from a Mustang GT to STi, and the latter was certainly more expensive to insure.

Wow. You are paying a lot for insurance. My father owns a 05 STi. Before he buy the STi he used to have a 04 Mazda 3. The only difference that he pays now with the STi per YEAR is $33 !!!

He pays $600 per year / GEICO / Full Coverage / $500 Deductible / CT. / 4-car policy / 55 Years old.

I think it is a kick ass deal from GEICO. 8)

Well I'm 20 and in the Air Force. I insure a 2005 STI and a 1988 honda civic. I WAS paying 220 per month WHEN I had a perfect record. I now pay 270 becuase of a claim I made when I had my wrx.

The salesman is blowing smoke up your a$$. The STi is in the same insurance class as the M3, Mercedes slk class and many other high end cars. Expect to pay a good amount.

25 yr old male clean record, live in San Diego, Excellent credit, and I pay $530/6mths through USAA, with a clean driving record.

I had a 2001 ford ranger that I paid $440/6mths so the difference is not that much.

Gotta love it!

Sorry to bust your bubble, but the you might want to get different car. It's pretty likely that you will pay as much per month in insurance as the car payment itself.

Aside from the actuall car, the zip code that you live in will also have a major impact on the insurance rate. If you are renting an apartment, then find out what other zip codes are in your area and have a chat with your agent.

Other options to lower insurance are to get married, get older, and don't drive it much. keeping a clean record helps too. Good grades matter less then you might think.

If you drive less then 10k miles a year, that should help a lot too.

If you want a performance car, you should probably think about getting a normally aspirated car and putting a blower or turbo on it. Used, pre-2002 BMW 325s are going for less then $20K and take a blower that will add 100 hp. You can probably do the same to a NA Subaru if you want a Scooby.[/url]
