Default Insurance quotes - Good for a laugh!

Just startign to price out the insurance for my car which should be here in about 6 weeks.

Im 23 I have insurance right now and Ive had 1 violation that was ruled an illegal right on red.

Esurrance.com - ~750/6months

Progressive.com - ~800/6months

Geico - ~2000.6months

YES $2000 for every 6 months through Geico the one that claims they save you the most money.

Haha.

Jeff

Was that an internet quote? I got a stupid online quote also and someone told me to call them as their online service is known to give out stupid quotes. Quoted me something like $2200 for 6 months for my wife who is also 23 with 1 violation (turned left where wasnt suppose to) and my 25 with perfect driving record
If it was an online quote give them a call and get the quote over the phone.

My wife and I have Geico. They beat everyone else by a <b>huge</b> margin, which is why we switched. I'm 26 and our insurance on a Z3 and STi is $800 every 6 months.

[edit] I was 24 when we got the STi and switched insurance. Oh yeah, and that's for full coverage for both of us on both cars.

I have progressive and it's like 1400/yr. One place called Hartford Agency wanted 3,000/yr. When the lady said that I just simply got up and walked out of her office. LOL.

These people have got to be kidding. 4Gs a year? Do they think people will actually pay that? Or is that the point, they just don't wanna insure the car?

I used to work GEICO, if you qualify for the best group, it ususally beats everyone. My wife and I have a Jetta and a beater. For "full coverage" (there is no such thing BTW) for both of us, we pay ~$95 / month. We're 28 & 30 with no claims or violations.

If you do not get into the best group (there are 3 of them) it can be expensive. From the sounds of things, you were in the bottom group which means one or more of the below:

1. Your credit is horrible (yes, they check)
2. Your occupation is "high risk"
3. You're lying about your record
4. There are tickets / claims you don't know about or remember
5. High risk ZIP code (what you pay is based on where you live)

you guys are lucky. in my zip code the best i could get was 2160 a year. which is 1080 every six months. Ive called everywhere. One company wanted 6000 a year from me lol. most places where around 1900 every six months. I'm 27 with a clear record with no claims. its crazy.

Ha- Just called Geico on the phone to see what it would be.

Got down to around 3k a year.

He said I meet their prefferred customer status - or something along those lines.
Makes me laugh. He said most of the money almost 2/3s in fact is because of the type of car it is. (Probably doesnt help that im not 25 yet).

Progressive or Esurance it is!

I just called my personal insurance agent (AmFam) and got a quote for 371 for 6 months. 250 ded. 100/300/100 full coverage. Being a home owner, 32, married, 2 kids and a clean record is good. ;-)

I do not know what it is currently because it is lumped in with our business insurance.

I get $30,000 in 4 months, so I'm getting an STi. Can't wait. But my father said he went and checked out some companies, and he said the average for me, because I'm a male, 18 driver, and an STi, would be $390 a month. Can anyone PM me with any help? =X
