1050 a year. I know you think insurance is a scam but what would you do if you hita car at 45mph? Who would pay for the repairs for your? Their car? What about their hospital bills?

I know.................your 401K

Your STI is a symbol 26 same as:

Ferrari 360 Modena
Corvette Z06
Lamborghini Gilardo

And higher than:

Corvette
MB SL55AMG
Obviously a fellow insurance agent  Car symbol 7, right in line with EVO, 350Z, S4, M3

Well I'm 20 & I pay insurance in South Carlina (second highest in the US) for two cars. My 05 STI and a 88 civic (daily driver car). I pay 1560 for 6 months ($260 a month). I have a minor accident on my record from when I had my wrx about a year ago. If I had a perfect record, I would be paying 1260 ($210 a month). I also use Allstate as my insurance company.

Wow! Thanks for all the replies guys. I will try shopping around for a better rate, but I didn't have too much luck the last time. I am married, 3 kids my own home etc. It must be that accident.

The agent did call back and is now using my wife as primary on it. We will see what that results in.

Lets keep our fingers crossed. I really love the STi. It has to be one of the best overall performance cars there ever was. Practical, reliable, fast, and fun. It will probably be the best performance car I have ever owned! I can't wait!

I think I'm paying around $130-150/month CDN for my STi through State Farm. I can't remember the exact number because it is rolled in with the Civic and house insurance. I do know that it is only about $12 more / month than my '02 RSX. We opted for $500 comprehensive and $1000 collision since it is only a pleasure vehicle. I'm listed as the primary on the STi.

I'm 28, married, no accidents or tickets.

Wow, I thought Mass insurance rates were high, but some of those numbers are out of control. I'm 27 with 1 speeding ticket on record from like 5 years ago, and I pay about $1,200/year for insurance. I use the same company for my homeowner's insurance so I think I get a 5% discount, but still.

Oh, and my STI insurance is almost identical to what my 03 WRX was, so there is no way it is in the same category as a Lamborghini.

Ok, after some juggling I am now down to $439/6 mos. Essentially I am trading in my 1994 Mustang GT and my 2001 Dodge 4x4 1500. I am free and clear on the Mustang and I am taking a wash on the 1500. After that, I am buying my dad's 1988 Ford F150.

So, after it is all said and done. I end up paying $8 more per month in insurance and $80/month less in car payments. Wife says it is acceptable, so whats a guy to do! I must get the STi!

Thanks for all your support guys! I will post pics afterwards!

Mike
