My '08 is $90/month as well...

My '02 Bug-eye was $130/month 3 years ago... and it wasn't even an STI!

My 08's insurance is lower then my wife's 07 Outback Sport!

I kept asking the lady if there was an error, but she assured me that this was the correct rate!

This is with Liberty Mutual

The hatch style makes a difference. It all based on these statistic showed that the hatch style is called family car because they drive safety. I guess they don't want to drive crazy when their kids in their cars. I notice that many families have a wagon or hatch cars... so we should appreciate their effort to benefit us. That why the rate for the 08 STI is cheaper.

I can confirm that the 08 STi is waaaaay more expensive to insure than 07 STi. My previous car an e46 M3 cost 2600 a year, pretty much same as my other previous car the RX8. Geico who I had insurance with for like 10 years want 4066 dollars for the same coverage on the 08 STi. I was shopping for evo 9 RS and insurance quote was 3300 a year. The 07 STi was quoted a little less. I tried progressive, allstate, esurance and they were around geico range. Mind you never had a ticket, moving violation, drive less than 5000 miles a year. I also have the defensive driving course. In the end I went with Drivers Insurance, a local company whose parent company is TSC Direct. After I dropped some coverage my quote was 2600. The same coverage with Geico would have cost me almost 3500 still. Anyone with similar experience? Maybe the insurance company finally realize the 08 STi is not just a family wagon.
