Default Got a letter in the mail from my insurance

heres what it said:

Dear Policy Holder:

We have changed your policy on your new auto due to its high horsepower and low curb weight, this vehicle is classified as a high performance auto. We normally do not insure such an auto for a new applicant. However, we have agreed to insure this auto for you because you are a current policyholder.

We promote highway safety. This is why we are making you aware of the risks involved in driving an auto with a powerful engine and comparatively lightweight body. Our claims experience shows that these autos become involved in more accidents than autos with less horsepower.

We encourage you or anyone driving your auto to follow safe practices, especially observing a safe speed. We hope you have a safe driving future.

I think thats BS. They gave me a quote and told me its a performance car and took the vin. I activated the new policy then after 4 days i get this letter with a new REVISED policy along with it. So they just upped my insurance 120.00/yr basically for no reason. Im an adult with a clean driving history and 3 kids yet they are gonna lecture me in a letter like im a irresponsible teenager.

Even revised its not the worst/nor the best, but i just called state farm to see if they can do better they said i have to wait till monday and talk to a rep in my area.

New raised price I pay 120.00 w/homeowners insurance.

I hate insurance. All my life i've paid thousands to them and never made a single claim. Yet if i did have to make a claim of coarse they would up my insurance even more dispite all the money i threw out the window just for "incase @#$% happens"

find a new insurance company.... then write a letter back that you have decided to drop them due to the letter youve received (copy the letter and staple it to your letter)

well the quote i got from state farm was 90.00/mth but thats without homeowners insurance so i dont know how much more it would go up with it. Better then 120/mth though.
Yeah i think i will find better insurance and send them a copy of the letter back, lol. Oh btw they upped my insurance before because my wife got a speeding ticket. Why the hell do i have to pay for my wifes mistake? They told me that anyone living in the same house must be on my policy, therefore if they have a bad driving record there more of a liability of they were to drive my car.

I pay 152.00 a month State Farm, no tickets, 45 years old. All four of my cars insurance, home owners, life, all total 780.00 a month. That's almost a grand a month for in case **** happens.

1750.00 a year for home, 2 cars (06 STi and 07 Outlook). That's the wife and I and she has speeding tickets. PM me and I'll give out my agents number. I'm sure she would love the business.

You should try Mercury. If you carry all of your various insurance policies with them, you get a discount. I don't recall what our #s are but I believe they're pretty good.

So I guess by their logic, as stated in their letter, they do not insure motorcycles...

$109/month for a 2007 STi and 2000 Tacoma and my homeowner's insurance. Not sure the breakdown for just the vehicles. That's through Statefarm, BTW.

FWIW, try Erie. If you have a good driving record, I have seen their rates as the lowest.
