Default Anyones Insurance go up this year?

My plan went up like $80 (6 mo) for some reason this year... I am 23 and have 0 tickets (on record) and 0 accidents.

Is this because a lot of people wrecked their STis last year? Because I was expecting it to go down some with booth of my cars (also have an 88 integra) ageing/depreciating and me getting older.

Mine went up $39. Not sure of the reason. I didnt have any accidents. 1 comp claim for glass, which doesnt increase the premium. Cost of doing business I assume.

I didnt think of this before, but could also be the younger crowd. No offense to anyone, but STIs are getting cheaper used and are more accessible to the younger kids. In general, younger=more accidents=increased premiums for everyone else.

damn, maybe I'll call my agent and ask him. I only pay ~$160/mo for both cars so my insurance is definitely still low for my age. Hell I have a friend with a 89 240 that pays something like $180/mo for comprehensive, lol.

My insurance went up $120/6 months for no reason, and I called my agent, and she fixed it back to the previous rate.

Rates don't necessarily vary with your driving record. The company you are with could have taken it in the shorts due to lots of accidents by their policy holders in your state and in order to make up for it, raised rates for all policy holders.

Or they could just be trying to get a bigger bonus to buy that huge boat the regional manager always wanted and raising your premiums is a way to get it.

OP, what insurance company are you with? Most insurance companies will raise/lower their rates based on their year's profits. The company I am with was hit with a HUGE loss this last year (something like 20 million), so the entire customer base will see a rate increase. I know because my GF works there as an adjuster and I get all the details and secrets about how insurance companies work
