IWSTI Addict since: Sep 2008 Trader Rating: (0) | I have a 2006 STI and I'm looking for fronts and rears for my car. I want it to have a good clean look so I don't want my panels cut. So far, the only speakers that I know of are some Boston Acoustics. They have a small Neodymium magnet and at my old job when we had a Wrx or STI come in thats all they could get. Again, I'm looking for good clean sound and NO CUTTING. Any help would be appreciated. This ad is not endorsed by this member. Please register or login to hide this ad. |

I don't know of any others, my buddy owns an audio store and this is what he said would be the best for what I wanted. Loud and clear with mid bass, no box since I have the Subaru Sub under my seat. | |

I have a pair of Infinity Perfect Components, but I know they won't fit. I used to sell car stereo stuff a few years back. We always recommended Boston because of the sound/depth. Its good to know that Type Rs will fit though. |

IWSTI Addict since: Aug 2006 Trader Rating: (0) | you can fit ANY 6.5 speakers in the front and ANY 5 1/4 (i think thats the rear size) in the rear. all you need are the spacers. but i have alpine R's in the front and alpine E's in the rear on mine. not a huge fan of them though. |

| Silver Member | According to Crutchfield, you can fit 5.5 or 6.5 in the front and 4.0 in the back. They also state that no standard size speaker will fit without an adapter and redrilling the holes. I have not verified this, just stating what the Crutchfield website says. |

IWSTI Addict since: Jun 2007 Trader Rating: (0) | I don't remember... Sorry it was a year and a half ago now. I do remember him saying these were the new models, because the older ones would not fit due to a bigger magnet. No, not any speaker... I wanted to get some Infinity Kappas and the magnet was too big to fit in the door. I was told it would cause vibration noise with the door or wires and had a good chance of hitting the window or causing static due to interference. I don’t know a heck of a whole lot about the issue but I did see what my buddy was talking about with the magnet clearance issue. |
