Default HDD camcorder turning off

So I've got this HDD camcorder that I'm using with my cam mount. The thing seems to be turning itself off after 1:30 to 5 minutes of time in the car. It works fine outside of the car so what's the deal?

Hard drive cameras are picky about vibration, they shut down to protect the drive. Not good for motorsports. Get one that uses tape or flash memory.

Exactly. I've heard of this before. Maybe you could rig up some sort of a rubber bushing that helps absorb some of the vibrations...

I bought the cam for filming my daughter, in the car was secondary. I'm way past being able to take it back. Looks like I might have a cam mount up for sale soon.

The camera doesn't have a slot for some flash memory?

Why yes it does, we may be on to something yet. I'll give it a try sometime. Thanks for the help.
