Default Pioneer Avic Z-series (z1, z2, z3) background loading how-to

Found this on another forum while I was searching on how to do this, thought I would share here as I bet other are interested. Haven't been able to do this yet but will post results when I do.

-make your background in a 500x240 size, and save it as a jpeg. no spaces in the name, only A-Z, or 0-9
-make a folder called "Pictures" if you dont have one...and make sure its a capital P, lowercase didnt work for me
-when you set up the data to be burned, have all the backgrounds in the Pictures folder and then you need 100 mb of dummy data. download this MyNikko.com - Dummy File Creator and that DOES NOT go in the pictures folder
-next you have to change these settings: ISO-9660, Joliet, Mixed Mode, 8+3 or 255 character length.
-make sure you finalize the disc
-when you put it in your unit, make sure its either bypassed or your parking brake is engaged, otherwise it wont let you import from disc.

Good stuff but I go to avic411.com for all the how to's. I actually did this with a Pictures folder and only about 50 megs of dummy data. I didn't do a conversion of pixels or type, just made sure it was jpeg and it all worked fine for me. Others have had problems though

The next step would be to completely unlock the hard drive and do whatever you want hehe.

avic411 is exactly where I got it from . Thought it was pretty useful information, and not everyone knows about avic411 so I thought I would post it here.

Boony - nice Tigers background... I should get a sweet Cubs one

It's actually just Detroit, but the Old English "D" looks good. And when in Motown...

St. Louis, Mo?! Never heard of it..... Do they have a baseball team there or something?

I'm debating if I want a Cubs background, or maybe a scantily clad women... ie Jessica Alba

Don't do the latter. It makes the car too pimpy. Try to get something that's nice too look at, not distracting, and semi-classy. The car will look better for it.

Well looks like I wont be having any background pics of baseball teams from St. Louis, Mo! (couldn't resist)

I agree with you though Boony, don't need any more distractions!
