Default Problems using "iPOD" selection menu with dnx7100 and kca-ip300v

I bought the kca-ip300v cable because I thought I would be able to use the "iPOD" menu selection, instead of the "USB" menu selection, and when I hooked everything up, and tried to select the "iPOD" menu selection, it says "Disconnected" - it only wants to work through the "USB" selection - how in the world do you actually get it to work through the IPOD menu?

Frusturated.

Rich.

I forgot which cable I bought for my HU, but make sure you have the latest firmware for your IPOD and HU. If you have an IPOD Touch, it doesn't currently support video from that. (So I was told)

I'm almost positive the head unit is up to date, I remember checking as soon as I got it, and I know my ipod is up to date, because when I installed itunes and plugged my ipod in, it updated to the latest version for the ipod.

I'm using ipod classic, if I knew someone with a nano, I'd try that.

edit 1 -> There was a software update, mine is 1.0.4 and they are at 1.0.9 now - I just have to find my serial number so I can access the download page for the update.

edit 2 -> I updated the software to 1.0.9, did everything it said, started it back up and checked the software version; 1.0.9; removed the usb drive, plugged the ipod usb in, and it loads it to the usb screen again. I can't figure out for the life of me how to actually use the IPOD screen - do you need like, an auxilary cable or some **** for it? because this is really annoying.

PLUS, my ipod creates like 500 folders on itself, making it impossible to set it to randomize, because 1 folder will have 1 song, and on the RARE occasion, 1 folder will contain 2 songs.
