Default My AP install

I was tired of plugging and unplugging the usb cable to the AP every time so I put a switch and I can turn the AP on and off with it. What you do is slice up the usb cable and inside are 4 wires black, red, white, and green. The red wire is the power so you cut the wire and put the switch. I didn’t take pictures while I was doing the install but I took some pictures of the final result. What do you guys think?

I think I don't use the AP frequently enough to worry about it... I flash my map, and im done.

^ lol, its not that accurate. At least the time delay makes it not very usefull. But it is cool to watch none the less.

Very cool! I never plan on using the AP as a real-time tool, but I have though about putting in a switch to make the connection a little easier!

Doesn't the big OBD plug between your knees bother you?

i know it's not accurate but for now it's better than nothing

I took off the OBD2 from its place and i put it under the steering column with zip ties and it's out of the way.

Nice work. What are you using to hold the AP in front of the vent? Is that a cell phone holder? I'd like to get one of those.

Dont get that holder, it moves too much and will end up scratching your dash. It also is in the way of the USB plug so needs to be shifted a bit to fit right.

I got that one.

Amazon.com: Type S AC01994-60/6 Universal Holder: Automotive

Much better.

-pretty much same color than the AP
-Once installed, its not moving at all.

Only downside is that the mounting isn't articulated. As a result you get your AP tilted backwards a little. But I got used to it and now love how it looks.( on 02-04 MY)

And beware of the clips that mount on the vent. Its metal and will scratch the vents plastic plates. BTW you will have to slide them a bit closer than the factory setting so they fit the vertical vent plates. (I'm giving that extra info so you dont end up scratching your vent in two different places like I did.)

It looks like that on 05MY

plus the ap only reads boost up to 18.4 psi. this isnt a big deal unless you are pushing over 18.4 psi or have some overboost probs.

thats a good cell holder too. in the one i got i put some
window insulator in the back of the cell holder to keep it from rubbing against the dash. You can see it in the 3rd pic because it’s sticking out a bit
