Default DIY: Wrap shoulder harnesses around a harness bar (Using a 3-Bar Slide) *ATTN crookid

DISCLAIMER: Use of this DIY is for informative purposes only. Neither writer nor forum owner assumes liability for any results from using this DIY. Harness installs are very important, and should only be done by a qualified technician. Serious injury, up to and including death, can result from improperly installed harnesses. CONTINUE AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Its really hard to describe, so the pics will do most of hte talking. Of course, youll be wrapping around a proper harness bar, not a paint can.

If your harness is already wrapped up (some are shipped with the harness wrapped around air..some have the harness wrapped around, say, a snap in clip), disassemble it.

1

2

Start with the 3-Bar Slide about 16" from the end of the strap.

3

4

Pull the slide as close as possible to the bar. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! The further the bar ends up from the slide, the more you risk slippage under pressure.

5

6

The end of the strap should be AT LEAST 4" from the edge of the slide. Here I have 5"

There..I tried. Any questions just ask. These are the Schroth Profi II ASM FE 4-points..

Next on the DIY List: How to wrap a snap in clip to your harness, and how to install a 4-point harness.

I can either do do the DIY when I help Chris, or I can take mine out of the car and reinstall it.

My snap in links actually came in today..took all of 5 minutes to put in the car..

Unbolt, put in harness (closest to the car), rebolt. Thats all..

Wow..I helped BlackSTI2006 put his in today and the Sparcos were ridiculous..the 3-bar slide was so tight we had to use a small screwdriver to push the belt through at Step5 and pull with pliers..

..those should DEFINITELY not slip Chris..
