Am I missing something? Every description I read about this Motul Gear 300 says this specifically in bold print:

QUOTE:
"All gearboxes & hypoid rear axles without LSD. All types of cars - circuit, rally, 4wd & passenger."

Can someone justify this disclaimer for me so I'm not confused.

There is a discussion about this in another thread. They spoke to a rep of Motul and he said if you have a trans that shares the fluid between the gears and LSD, just use the gear300 oil. You can search for the thread to confirm and get more info

Let me know if I should add something to make this how-to less confusing.

i think this is like the z06, which IIRC has a "torque tube" (i think thats what they call it). and it runs fluid all the way to the back to help distribute weight...

anyhow, i used the motul 300 and the motul gear 300 (the one with limited slip additive) after searching for hours and hours and hours).

my car runs nice and smooth (trans anyway).

btw, ive got like 5000 miles after the change..

Great write up. I just changed my tranny fluid to Motul Gear 300 in preparation to this weekend's track day. The gear shifts are now much smoother.

I'm going to try the Extra-S fluid from Subaru this summer as I had my car in twice for being unable to shift into 2nd on very cold days. My subaru dealer first told me they would try "their fluid" don't know what it was but the problem still exists. Next time they "could not reproduce" 'ed me. 2nd still feels "notchy" so we'll see if the extra-S clears that up. I will check back then.

I had the sam prob with the shifting into second and into first when it was cold out. I put motul300 and the prob doesn't exist anymore.
