Same thing happened to me. I ordered a new pan (just in case) and it came with a bolt torqued in there so much i couldn't get it out either.

i just take off the pan now, anyways. that way I can clean the magnet under it.

anyone need a new 6MT tranny pan with bolt?

Motul Lubricants is where i ordered mine from. Funny thing is, i found their site after using "motul" in the google search. They had the best price around before shipping, and with shipping included. Even beating my local shops OTD price.

I order mine from LTB Motorsports for free shipping and their prices are low. Check it out guys. Due to Fedex & UPS regulations we can not ship oil via Express shipping, we will only ship via ground.

Motul 300, more specifically Motul Gear300 is the product name, the numbers do not signify the oil weight.

MOTUL Gear 300

Motul 300 is just simply better due to the fact is fully synthetic tranny fluid. Its meant for racing application, so thats your choice for your subie.

PLanning on doing this this weekend, and I went to dealer who I knew carried Motul, and he gave me motul300 75-145. I thought it seemed funny, but the parts guy has an STI and says he uses it in both his tranny and Diff. Anybody have any insight on that.

I dont see why you couldn't use that, i'm using motul 300 in both my tranny and rear diff and i havn't had any problems yet. The bottle even says for use in transmissions and differentials.
So... i think you'll be fine.

A little tip that may help some of you out. Since the pan washer looks to be made of copper you can try putting the socket on the bolt and tapping it with a hammer to crush the washer a little. Don't hit so hard you dent your pan in but that should relieve some pressure and make loosening the bolt easier. A little penetraing oil helps too. Also, another method is to try and tighten the bolt a little which will again squish the washer a little and will make removal easier. The only problem with the second method is you may still strip the bolt. However, I wouldn't do this to the clutch housing(torx) bolt using the socket. For that you would need a large faced hammer or punch that wouldn't damage the area where the torx fits into. Hope that helps.
