Now im at about 15k miles where a tranny fluid replacement is recommended, so today i got Motul 300 and plan on doing this oil change today.

Thanks for the awesome write up, i also plan on doing my rear diff (using your write up) in the next day or two.
Unless the maintenance schedule for an 07 is different, this is the 15k mile service:

Replace Engine oil
Replace Engine oil filter
Inspect Disc brake pads and discs, front and rear axle boots and axle shaft joint portions
Perform Inspect brake lines and check operation of parking and service brake system
Inspect Clutch operation
Inspect Steering and suspension
Perform Rotate and Inspect Tires

changed mine to Motul 300 over the weekend, boy what a difference! I would recommend everyone to do their tranny fluid change to Motul right away, its so smooth and feel too easy to shift.

no, for rear differential, you need to use Motul 90 PA. Link: How to: changing rear diff oil

Just a note for 07 STI owners, the clutch side drain plug is completely different and will require a special tool to get it off.

Now can anyone help me with finding this tool?

That's a T-70 Torx Bit. I thought I needed it on my 06 but when I got under there, it's all normal. Go figure.

torx t-70 - Google Product Search

You're looking at about $12 shipped.

For any 06+ owners, the bit you'll need is a TORX T70 which can only be found online, none of your local stores will carry it.

I was too lazy to order and wait for it so i purchased a T60 (found anywhere) and wrapped a little electrical tape around it to thicken it up. Worked perfectly.

My trans is draining as im writing this.

Well, since subaru over torqued the hell out of the oil pan drain plug, i ended up stripping it down.

Thanks to Irwins 14mm Bolt-Grip socket and 4 bloody knuckles, i finally got it out.

very nice write-up, my oil is in need of a change. I used Redline in it and it ran ok for awhile. now sometimes(rarely, but more common recently) my 2nd gear grinds a little when shifting at higher RPMs. I'll give Motul a try and see what happens.

Motul is definitely a good choice to go with.
