Unless you've changed your turbo, it's really not necessary since our turbo's are water and oil cooled. Just a few minutes of sitting after a "hard" run is all that is needed.

if you must install it, which yes there is no reason to have it but like everyone says to just sit for a few minutes after you drive, well i dont have those few minutes being in the army so, you could install it in the cigarette ashtray spot, just take some needle nose pliers and break away the plastic so that it fits and velcro it down, and route the wires up through the dash and ground the ground wire to somewhere near the shifter assembly and just tap into the parking brake wire.... done

I actually made areplica of the HKS unit out of wood to use as a model during the proces of installing it in the fuse-box door. If you own a Dremel with some decent cutting discs (steel...not grinder disks) you can carefully cut the two bottom corners of the fuse door and actually close the door with the unit in the dash to hide it once it is wired. The ashtray is a standard spot though.
I've seen an HKS advertisement where it was mounted in the driver's side a/c vent in teh center dash area.
I liked the idea of hiding the unit though.

thats why i put mine in the ashtray, its easy enough to get to and its hidden when i close the ashtray and since i would never smoke in my car, well i dont smoke anyways but still... i dont even open the ashtray anyways so no one knows its there... i only use it on really hot days or if i drive pretty far.. most of my drives are like 3 or 4 miles or so. so i dont use it that often but hey it only cost me 20 bucks with the harness so it was worth it....

If we can't slam your modding skills on the timer can we slam you for missing a gauge in your tri pod.

So some pics would aid my install (so i know what i'm going for).
Can you guys who installed in the ashtray post some pics?
I am going to buy the HKS Type 0 and would love to put it in the ashtray (after removing some of the plastic first b/c the timer is too big by like 2mm or some tiny ammount).
