Redline MTL is 75w80 and Redline MT-90 is a 75w90. Both are listed as GL-4 certified.

Just replaced mine yesterday. I left the oil in the car so it was cold and it was pretty thick which made it quite a chore to get it pumped in the diff. I use the OE STi LSD oil from subarugenuineparts.com. I changed it at 20K miles and now at 34K. I like to break the rear loose in the rain quite often so I like to change it frequently. I may try Motul next time... we'll see..

Just did mine tonight out of sudden motivation rather than doing it over the weekend. I must say that whoever does this you must have some kind of oil pump. I lost my oil pump and had to mcguyver one which got pretty messy. Now my garage reeks of this oil!

Thanks For the write-up MARCEAU, just did mine tonight and the oil was filthy with only 18,800 miles.

Tip: Apply teflon in the opposite direction (counter clockwise) when ready to thread the plug.

Would it be safe to use 75W90 gear oil instead of the oil you use?

Normally I'd say: - Turn In Concepts But their supply is cashed.

Great prices here, this is where I order my stuff: Motul Lubricants
