i would grind the welds to try to save the bracket so you can just reposition it. buying stock from a hardware store and modifying it to hold works. but imo like i said before, every time i see it, it looks ghetto.

Ok so I got the bracket problem taken care of. I broke out the MIG welder and went to Home Depot and got some steel. After a lot of bending, cutting, and welding I have a bracket for it. So I didn't have to hack up the TMIC itself.

But now my problem is that it seems like the Y-Pipe is too short. Where the coupler attaches to the turbo seems like it needs to be about 1 inch longer. I've been reading about people having to extend the Y-Pipe and I think that's what I need to do. Anyone with an EBay TMIC have to do that?

Do you have the Drive By Wire throttle body? If so then you have to take off the lip on the TMIC outlet. This is what it looks like now. Oh yea I put the STi logo on it yesterday.

With that lip cut off it gave me enough clearance to get the driver's side bracket lined up and mounted. The problem was that I had to fab my own bracket for the passenger side. I got some steel from Home Depot and after a few hours of measuring, cutting, and welding I have a bracket. It looks like crap but you can't see it when the TMIC is on.

If you have a WRX you might want to take a look at this thread on Nabisco:

The TMIC is still sitting on my floor right now. I've been working on a few other things and haven't had time to wrestle this thing back in place again. But I'll post up pics once I get it back in.

When I heard the words plasma off and intercooler in the same sentance I started to cringe. Ooooo, not a good idea, unless you want to see what a whole bunch of melted coke cans looks like.

No I made a bracket out of steel which the TMIC bolted to on the left side.

Sorry I didn't post up any pics of this installed. I just got done taking it out for good actually. This TMIC was ok while it was installed, saw a few good gains from it, but was making my car run too rich. I was getting a lot of backfiring and I could smell a hint of fuel in the exhaust gases.

IMHO I would never buy one of these things again! It was a PITA to install and needed a lot of fab work to get it to fit properly. I wish I would've just bought an APS and been done with it. I guess you get what you pay for....
