Post How to Flush Radiator on Sti

Can somebody post some pictures of how to remove the plugs for the radiator as I just finished my 30K fluid change and everything went well. Except could not find how to drain the anti-freeze.

Please Help.

It's a plastic "bow tie" looking knob on the lower passenger side (right side) of the car. It can be removed with your fingers. There are 2 levels of removal... u can loosen and let it drip out... or remove completely and in combination with removing the fill cap, it will GUSH out.

It's actually really easy to locate. Looking from the hood, look straight down on the passenger side and you'll see the bow knob. You just remove the undercover from the bottom of the car, turn the knob, and it will drain. Just be sure to remove the radiator cap (not the one on the actually radiator). You will need a funnel or something to help direct the fluid. Otherwise, it will splash on the subframe. So I don't have any pics, but I just did my fluid and thats how I did it.

Well I just changed my fluid thanks for telling me where the bow tie plug was. Drained the radiator for a good 10minutes then flushed the system with 2 gallons of distilled water. Finally droped the car from the jack stands then filled radiator very slowly to prevent air bubbles. Then once radiator was full started the car with both caps open burped the car and let it idle then held 1.5 to 2K rpm then shut off car checked levels and put all caps back on.

Thanks Guy's

Arrow Re: How to Flush Radiator on Sti

So I changed my upper radiator pipe... Doing so I lost fluid, once I filled it back up I was at the FULL line via the overflow tank...

Now looking at it I am BELOW the low line...

What is going on?

Which cap do I pour fluid into? The one near the intercooler or the one that is on the radiator itself or do I pour it in the overflow tank?

Any help in the next couple would be great, I have to go to work... :-(

Thanks,
-Nigel
