Default How do you install a turbo timer?

I have a blitz turbo timer with the harness. Are there any threads to get a idea on how to do this?

Best advice is to take the turbo timer and sell it. Our cars do not need them. The turbo is already water and oil cooled. Unless you go racing for a long period of time you will be fine.

is needed for a wrx but not for sti. it certainly couldn't hurt though. i have one on my wrx and if you do it right, it takes about an hour. i doubt there is a how to but you have to run the hose through the firewall, when i did mine, i ran it along back of the TMIC and zip tied it to the back of the firewall. then you have to make a "T" in one of the lines i can't remember. it should have some directions. then you have to wire it up. i did mine like 5 years ago i can't remember. you could find a how to on nasioc probably. good luck!

its pretty straight foward. take the TT harness and connect it to the blue harness clip underneath the steering wheel. then you need to ground the black wire from the TT, run the purple wire (this is for the blitz like you have) to the wire coming from the ebrake. my 05 had a light green wire, not sure about the 04's if they are different, it might be a pink wire. it one single wire that kinda hidden behind the carpet.

then follow this link to bypass the keyless entry and FACTORY alarm...if you have an aftermarket one you'll have to search. i have lowjack and i still dont know how to arm the alarm since i dont know what wire to cut/where lowjack is. its pretty straight foward, but just to review what the link says, you cut the black wire with a dark green stripe on both the keyless entry ( by the fuses) and the security ( behind glove box). hope this helps!

NOOB Question... but what does a Turbo Timer do? If I remember right, a lot of guys put TT on EVO's... so why don't STI's need them?

Thanks,

Jay

It keeps the engine running at idle for a certain amount of time to cool the turbo down. But as was said above, the turbo in the STi is already cooled, so there is no need for a turbo timer.

a TT is used for keeping car running at idle speeds at your different time lengths depending on how hard you run the car. is used for cooling the oil in the lines and turbo. they work great and there is no reason to have one on an sti but there is no reason NOT to have one as well. they look really cool if you mount them nice and people are always baffled as your car shuts off itself.
