Default clutch fork removal?

have a 06 sti and do not know how to get this out, please help. i read in another post to just screw in a 6mm bolt into the hole at the shaft and pull it out but that doesnt seem to do anything. how far does it need to go in? after i screwed it in about 1/4" it got stiff so i cranked it in some more with ratchet and finally seemed to hard and the fork doesnt come loose
