Default ***Fixed***Perrin Turbo Inlet to 20G install issues

1:30am and it's fixed....had to loosen several things....primary item was the uppipe which had to be rotated to change the gap.
WOOT!

Look at these pix and offer a solution.
Inlet doesn't line up and appears to be too short and will not reach even if it lined up.

Some details

td05 20G
Uppipe modified with a Tial 44 EWG (dump pipe under downpipe close to trans)

Look at the turbo inlet in relationship to the intake manifold bolts.
Appears the turbo needs to be moved ==> xx" (unknown amount)

does the stock inlet match up to the 20g? if it does its the inlet ... try and see which is causing the problem, the new turbo or the inlet

all4bspinnin,
Thanks....good idea....I'll try what's left of the inlet (it was removed @ 3am)
The air power hacksaw did its thing.

I had this exact problem with my 20g install except I was trying to use a APS turbo inlet pipe.I ended up using a Samco inlet hose.Do a search under my name and you'll see the pics. I posted.

I have the same issue with the same parts beside a td06-20g with a UR 44m EWG. I have yet to get a new inlet, the stock worked fine, but was planning on getting the perrin but i guess not anymore haha

Hey H4N I would keep a close eye on the stock inlet hose,I have seen them get a tear over time. The stock hose is too small even for 2.5 inch inlets, stock inlet is like 2.30 or something. When the inlet gets a leak and is drawing in unmetered, air well you get the picture.

ya i'm getting a new one, just had to use it. Got to get my Tarmac 2's installed and cornered balanced first! Was your Samco one a perfect fit? because samco is the most expensive ones.

The samco probably fits the best,I know the APS wont fit and perrin wont either as originally posted. The samco still makes contact with the corner of the tgv housing which over time may rub a hole in it.What really irritates me is these turbo's were sold to us as a bolt on part.We all know this is not true. The compressor housing used on my 20g was patterened after the older vf34 turbo which was not installed in drive by wire models.

I wasn't too impressed with the fitment of the Perrin inlet. A lot of squished silicone and really tight fits. It is a good part though, once it's on.
Good luck.

Seems about the same as how my 2.4" Green sits, very close to the TGV. I twisted and pushed and was able to get about a clamps width of the inlet on. I stuck two fingers in the BPV return and pushed/pulled toward the fender to get the turbo and inlet to line up. The inlet looks kinda kinked once they line up. And that one vent line you are pointing out on the inlet will be freaking squashed up against the intake manifold when you are done getting the thing in. Good luck.
