OK...since this was a evenings and weekend project.....finished @ 12:40am 6-23-07....started the engine @ 12:49am.
This build presented some challenges (more than noted here). First time Subie build for me. I will say for the most part it WAS bolt-on. With a lot of trial fit, and "finesse" of certain parts. If the uppipe is replaced, you must make sure to adjust it as it determines the placement of the turbo. In our case once the uppipe was adjusted outboard at bottom, the Perrin inlet was able to be installed.

Da*n does that engine sound good!

Tune is scheduled for Monday....I'll be there to watch and admire.

Good luck.
I wasn't impressed either~~! I'm not trying to lay any blame here, because I should have done my homework.

Looks like I'll be removing the intake tomorrow to see if I can get the car running... then ordering the Samco. BTW, if I had this many problems with the stock VF39, I can't imagine what the 20G fit-up would be like. Good luck, guys. -M.

okay so here is a stupid question, is your turbo an aftermarket one? the "20g"? I have a stock up pipe and stock turbo, an I am running into a similar problem... I have the Perrin turbo inlet for the stock sized turbo, removed the intake manifold and the the whole 9 yards, the trouble is the turbo seems to sit to low. so the air filter side of the pipe might not let the manfold back down on the heads. as well the turbo seems to be to the left like your but only 1/2 inch. do you/anyone have suggestions? kinda lost at this point and would be disappionted to put the stock back on after removing all the other components.

You may have to loosen the uppipe mounting brackets on the block side and frame rail side of the turbo. Then you may have to loosen the two bolts where the uppipe joins the right exhaust manifold (behind heat shield near right O2 sensor-hard to access)to move the uppipe UP slightly higher. Tighten the two uppipe bolts to exhaust manifold and then snug the top uppipe to bracket bolts and recheck the fit of Perrin inlet pipe.

The Deadbolt 20G was aftermarket from Deadbolt.

Good Luck.

Glad to hear you got it done.

My friends 20G on a Mustang Dyno put down 289/280 at 14psi, before I had to leave. Heard this morning they ran out of gas at midnight!
Expect better numbers to follow when they resume the tune. Turbo was starting spool @1800 rpm!
