I need help with a 2007 STi Radio Red Light Mod.

I have done the mod to a 06 just fine, but the 07 is a bit more tricky.

The face pops off just like that 06, the circuit board has twice as many screws, but I can't get the Circuit board out.

I am assuming that the two dials are holding it in, but for the life of me I can't get the two dials to pull off without damaging it.

Any thoughts or help is appreciated.

I need to find something that will slip into the back of the knob like a hook that will help pull off the knob.

Also I thought about using a "jar opening cloth" to help grip the knob, because I am not able to grip the knob with my fingers (slips off) and I don’t want to use a tool (like pliers) that would damage the plastic.

Any one else out there with more thoughts on how to do this?

You say you've done this mod to an 06..

So that means you can keep the letters on the display black, but change the green display background to red? That would definitely be of interest to me if anyone can figure it out...

The Red Light Mod for the 07 stock radio/CD player (just the replacing the green condoms for red ones).

1. First step (before doing anything) take a pair of channel locks and some thick plastic (I used a jar opening cloth) and place it over the each knob and pull off them off with the channel locks. (this is the hard part) be careful not to scratch them.

2. Follow the red light mod for the 05/06 for taking the radio face off.
3. There are about 3x more screw holding the face circuit board on.
4. Other then that, there is no difference with the 07 radio from the 05/06 radio.
