| S204 Racer Feedback Score: 2 reviews | been using the pinch weld for years, no problems. we use those to lift the cars when i worked at suby. yeah there's other points you can use,but i almost always used to use the pinch seem. done just about everything you can do to car under there, never had any problems. safe lifting was a MAJOR deal to me. i wouldn't take a tire off without triple checking my lift |

IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | In picture 2... I was going to jack up the front at that point, but after I looked at it more closely, it didn't appear to have any support directly under it. What does that spot have directly under it to support the weight of the vehicle? One noob question... All jack stands say not to place a car up on 4 jack stands. Is this just a cover your butt warning or is there a real danger to doing so? Last edited by STI Sibb; 12-09-2007 at 01:50 PM.. |

| Grassroots STI Racer Feedback Score: 2 reviews | ok to have car up on 4 jack stands for long period of time like a month or so? all 4 stands are at pinch weld locations.... pinch welds are bend but still should be ok for support correct? |

IWSTI Addict since: May 2006 | As described by Rantar_STi: To visualize where to place the jack stand look at the first picture of this thread showing the jack stand right under the pinch weld. If that jack was rotated 90 degrees and moved towards the inside of the car (i.e. towards the drive shaft) such that it would be located immediately behind (inboard of) the pinch weld (about 1/8") and immediately below the raised area of the floor panel, that would be the correct place to put the stand (and centered on the raised area of the floor panel). I agree with this 100%, as well as the originally described jacking points. The floor just inboard of the pinch welds is shaped to accept jack-stands. I am always putting my car on stands to change to track wheels and brakes. I use a soft thin piece of wood in the jack pan. |
