IWSTI Addict since: Apr 2007 | The pinch welds as jack points are only to be used by the oem jack that's in the back of the car in case of emergency as it has a slot designed to support the car at that point. You WILL crush those pinch welds by using a standard jack and supporting the weight of the vehicle on jack stands. |

When you put your jack there, where do you place the stands? I think it would be easier to jack up on the crossmember / rear diff. and put the stands where you have your jack. I was wondering if that was subframe or just some plastic - it's covered in plastic I guess to help with corrosion but I didn't know what was under it. | |
