Removal of the stock oil pressure sensor DOES NOT cause a check engine light.

Dude,

I don't know why - maybe someone else does. The light doesn't come on, that's all that matters.

Because it reads pressure and no pressure or open and closed. If you unplug it the circuit is open always it needs to close for the ecu to sence it. Basically it has to read 0 for your light to come on.

ok thanks so basically the comp. senses open or closed not a spec. press. so if it unplugged its open and the comp. thinks theres oil press.

thanks dude

I read somewhere that it's better to tap the radio harness instead of the clock so that you don't hear the Defi opening ceremony chime twice or something along those lines. I think when you tap the radio harness it sync's with your main speedo cluster.

Don't quote me though, just a tip and if anyone can confirm with pictures on what wires to tap that would be great.

Partially correct.

If you just start your car without pausing at ACC, then there is only 1 ceremony. If you pause at ACC, you will see a double shot.

The other downside with using the clock harness is that you cannot listen to the radio with the car off without the alarms going off - assuming you have oil pressure. If you have Boost, EGT, and Oil Temp, then there is no minimum alarm.

I chose the clock harness because its just a lot easier to get to, because you have that portion of the dash open already.

Oh ok, thanks for the clarification. I think I'm going to tap the radio harness anyways, clock might be more convenient but I have OP and rather have the option to listen to the radio without those things going off. I'm pretty sure it is also sync'd with the main speedo guages as well so I rather have it all turn on together at the same time.

Kudos for the DIY man, very helpful and makes things much easier.

Awesome guide! I tapped into the radio and it works like a charm! One sweep with the cluster, I could listen to the radio without the gauges bothering me. Perfecto!

Does anyone know what size wrenches I need for the stock oil gallery plugs? Just want to make sure I have the sizes I need before I start
