so the sensor that was there you just take it out and just leave it off to the side, and thats it? what does it affect if that original sensor isnt there anymore?

Before relocating my pressure sender to the location under the intercooler, I used the same location on my 02 WRX and disconnected the stock sensor harness. I had no problems at all running this way, I used electricians tape to keep water and dust out of the unused harness plug though. The actual sensor was happily tucked away in my stock parts pile.

Ok so in the attachment, maybe im just retarded but the one circled in red is the original sensor, thats the one you just unplug and tape off to the side and screw in the new sensor, correct?

and the one circled in blue was unplugged in the last pic before you finished and does that one stay unplugged too or no?

sorry for all the questions but i dont want to bork anything up when i do it (someday).. thanks in advance

the blue circle stays unplugged if you don't want your car to run correctly. that's the crankshaft position sensor as mentioned above.

great write up! would have come in handy when i was installing mine. for oil temp, i also chose underneath the IC, but i routed all the wires to the firewall plug behind the IC as well.

Nice writeup! Looks very easy to install. The wires that you used to daisy chain, were those provided with the Defis or did you have to make them?
This writeup makes me want to get a set. Did you get them for 201 or tuning factory? I wonder how much cheaper do they sell them for because everyone says they sell them for a good price.
Oh just to let you know, disconnecting our battery does not reset our ECU.

Thanks for the wonderful writeup.

You're wrong and plenty of us have datalogs to prove it. Look at what happens to your ignition advance multiplier (for example) when you disconnect the battery for a while.

True. Ive read it on some Scoobypedia site and Ive heard a tech say it. Once I disconnected my battery for a whole day and my ODO A/B trip meter saved? Dont know? If Im wrong my bad, no big deal.

Cant wait till the rest of the writeup is finished. Still trying to decide on Oil Pres and Temp or Oil Pres and EGT.
