Default cobb heat shield on 07?

i picked up a cobb turbo heat shield for my 07 sti and it doesnt fit? anyone else have trouble with the 07's? im an experienced mechanic and i just cant get it to clear.

hum it fits on my o6...... just to make sure its the stainless steel one with the white cobb letters right? and when installed the cobb letters face the passenger's side? if so maybe the 07 turbo is a different size?

stainless with etched letters. i tried it that way because thats how the bolts would line up, but it hits the wastegate linkage before its close to the bolts. maybe someone else was having this problem. it had a couple marks on it out of the box like someone tried to install it before.

well mine fit so im not sure what the problem is. Does it say on the cobb site that it should fit the 07 sti?

'06-'07 are practically the same. The heat shield should definitely fit. Your using the existing bracket from the dp for the heatshield right?

tried everything. i called cobb and they make specific ones for both the sti and regular wrx. i bet i got the wrx one. thanks for the opinions guys, ill update after i get it solved. hopefully i just got the wrong one.

Sounds like you got the standard WRX unit. The STI unit bolts right up, especially if you remove your intercooler.

Spt one fits. It took two minutes to put on. I took the two intercooler bolts out
pulled on the passenger side until the holes lined up, put that bolt in, and then
put the driver side bolt back in, done!

you might have to slide it up till the holes line up. When I installed mine I had to pull the sheild open to fit it over the turbo and dp. Once it lined up with the holes it was fine

just bend and twist a lil bit, or you can twist and shout..lol
