I have the same problem. I just installed my stage 2 set up yesterday (including the cobb heat shield) and it makes contact with the waste gate arm. Its not too bad, but it does touch.

Does Cobb have different heat shields for the standard wrx vs STI? (FU*K!)

Good thing I kept the box that my Cobb heat shield was in. I cross referenced the part number on the box with the numbers on Cobb's web site, and guess what?

The freaken numbers are all wrong! Slow Boy Racing sold me a heat shield for a WRX!

WRX part no. 512500
STI part no. 513500

There's a big difference in the shape of the heat shields. The position of the waste gate arms are different. This WRX heat sheild won't fit my STI in a million years.

I just paid alot of cash to get all these parts installed. Slow Boy Racing better send me the right heat shield asap!

Am I able to install the Cobb Heatshield myself?? My buddy installed my heatsheild for me and removed the stock heatshield and bracket for the heatshield with the dp install. Now I have decided I should have the heatshield. I kept the heatshield bracket? Is it hard to install, I dont want to deal with removing the intercooler cause that was a pain in the ass..
