we just destroyed a new seibon cf trunk per seibon's instructions for the identical problem rather send send it back to save shipping. of course, i have to eat the original 200. shipping i paid to get it here plus installation, de-installation and its ultimate destruction. what a waste. their customer service is terrible. they never return a phone call and i would never buy another seibon product.

I have a RED CF hood and trunk lid from Seibon, and I'm having EXACTLY the same problem with my trunk. It's like it sits back too far. I can stick my fingers in between the bottom of the trunk lid, and the weatherstripping around the inside of the trunk ! It won't latch at all !

My son works in a body shop, and he adjusted on the latch for hours, trying to get it to latch. We may have to try drilling more holes in the support arms, but it can't come too much farther forward, or it will be against the back glass !

I'm awfully frustrated over this. The hood fit great !

Anyway, the bad part is that I bought it last winter, and I put 5 coats of Zaino on it, and put it up until this spring, so now Seibon won't take it back regardless, because they have a 30 day return policy. I guess they expected me to swap it as soon as I got it to assure fitment. I wish I had !

I think it's all a bunch of BS ! I don't think I'll be buying anything else Seibon.

WOW ! I just realized how OLD this thread was. It just stuck out to me because of my current problems with a Seibon trunk.

i'm speaking from experience with seibon. have whoever sold you the lid call seibon to return it as defective. forget how long you've had it. you don't know if it fits until you try to fit it and there is no law you have to try to install it in 30 days. don't take any crap. get the number and call them yourself if you have to because they are dodgy. it's a pita.

insist on returning it as defective and tell them you know you are not the only one with a defective lid. you can mention me (pm me and i'll give you my name. rallysport was the vendor and nick worked hard on my behalf)and the fact i had mine beyond 30 days and they honored my warranty. they don't want to pay the shipping back, so they will come up with the alternate plan to destroy it and send them the pics of the carnage. you will be out the original shipping but you will recover the cost of the lid.

i will never order from seibon again there product and customer support was horriable at best..

i bought a carbon hood for my 95 clipse gst for 650 shipped and it was in great condition for 7 months befor prob started...

seibon for some reason likes to use grade a carbon with a low grade gel coat and after a couple months the gel coat cracks upwards like this ^ and the only way to save it is wet sand it and spray it with a clear coat..

im not even going to get into the customer support..

for 700 $ it should make me dinner or somthing
