Default Ebay TMIC install

I was installing my ebay TMIC last night and I could not physicaly get the I/C to fit between the T/B and fire wall. I've installed a larger APS TMIC on my WRX before with little to no problems and figured this would be the same. I tried for 2 hours last night and could not get the tmic in. my problem was if I got the back down in the hole under the a/c lines on the firewall, I didn't have enough room to get the I/C to T/B hose on the I/C. and If I got the hose on I could not get the I/C to set down in the rear past the firewall.
After about 2 hours of prying, shoving I got the hose on but could not get the red hose on the turbo, it was about an inch too far back towards the firewall.

I feel like I am missing something simple here as I have not read about people not getting them to fit.

Any ideas?

That TMIC is probably not made for DBW.

no... DBW is drive my wire

^he's probably to the length of the throttle body

i usually try and get it under the AC lines and on the turbo and then use a screw driver to pull the silicone hose on the throttle body back

Damn, I'm a dumb ass, I knew that. and yes I'm at the length of the T/B. and I tried the screwdriver I got the hose on but then could not move the I/C at all and could not get the hose on the Turbo.

I decided to abandon the TMIC upgrade. I think that even with a longer hose it still will rub against the firewall and I would end up with a lot of noise and other problems down the road wich aren't worth it to me. Me and 3 techs at work tried for two hours to shove that thing in place and get the I/C to T/B hose to line up. I decided if it takes that much shoving and cramming it doesn't fit.

Yeah I had an APS TMIC on my 03 WRX that fit great. I saw a ton of post about people raving about how great their ebay TMIC was and decided to give it a try. No big deal at least I didn't pay a lot for it.

The new Turbo XS fits really nice, and I was able to keep the airsplitter/I/C sprayer. Most large TMIC don't clear the air splitter.

Yea I went through the same ordeal I bought mine from cxracing on ebay and they said it fit the all sti's but in reality in only fits the jdm or non dbw models.

I however, did succeed finally with the ebay tmic I can now say for sure one ebay tmic that fits the usdm sti is the xo2racing tmic so if you try the ebay route again make sure to only get theirs.
